Preferred customer banking program features personal touch

Banks are often depicted in movies and popular fiction as coldly impersonal institutions. However, the pleasant reality for members of MAP and the other unions affiliated with the Michigan Police Legislative Coalition is much different.

The MPLC/National City preferred customer banking program has established a special relationship that offers many advantages. And Barbara Casacchia, Manager of National City's branch at Long Lake and Woodward, is making sure there's a personal touch involved.

"I'm inviting all members of the MPLC organizations to contact me directly in order to get the information and assistance they need in order to gain all of the program's advantages," she said.

"Personal service is very important to us, as well as to customers. I will be happy to help any member who has questions, in order to make certain his or her individual needs are addressed. Just call me at 248-901-3870 and we'll take it from there."

Preferred customer banking offers:

  • A 1/2 percent interest rate discount on new installment loans, applicable to fixed rate home equity loans (the type that National City most frequently transacts with members and the best rate ever offered by the bank).
  • Touch-tone telephone access to personal checking accounts.
  • Better rates, via bank cards, on certificates of deposit (excluding IRA's) and reduced service fees.
  • Credit card privileges without annual fees.
  • Overdraft protection.
  • Discounts of up to $135 applied toward closing costs on mortgages.

"This program is outstanding, as many MPLC organization members already have learned," said MAP Executive Director Fred Timpner. "We urge everyone who'd like a personal banking relationship that brings many benefits to give Ms. Casacchia a call."
