The White Lake Township Police Employees' Association recently settled their contract with the Township. Representing the WLTPEA was MAP's Fred Timpner. A four year deal was struck which results in top pay of more than $54,850 for the officers in year 2005. This is an increase totaling 15% over the life of the contract. Other
improvements include: Health care improvements which include extended patient services, as well as the option of selecting the Michigan Employees' Trust (MET) as their primary health care provider. The Final Average Compensation (FAC) is now averaged over 3 years instead of five, which will net more dollars in the pockets of retirees. Adam Kline, President of the local Association, credits the benefit improvements to the "professionalism and many months of perseverance by MAP, without which the contract would not have been settled on the eve of arbitration." The Mundy Township Police Officers' Association settled their contract with help from Labor Specialist Ron Palmquist. Their top pay will result in a salary in excess of $50,460 per year, based upon hourly wages. Another benefit improvement includes retirees medical coverage through the Health Plus Medicare Supplemental Plan. Included are office visits, a prescription card and hospital coverage with co-payments ranging from zero to a low $10 fee.
