White Lake Police Officers' Association Settle Contract


MAP's Joel Felt reports that the White Lake Police Officers have settled their labor contract with the following improvements:


• A three year agreement netting officers a 7% pay raise.

• An opportunity for members to opt out of their current health care plan to Blue Cross
  & Blue Shield Community Blue II PPO.

• Pension improvements which include an "age 50 with 25 years of service" clause.

• Grievance language updates.

• On the Job Injury language which specifies that the Township will pay the difference between
  Worker's Compensation and the Officer's pay for up to one year.

• Seniority points to be awarded for promotions with one-half point awarded for every year
  of service, up to ten points maximum.

• An extra Personal Leave Day, bringing the total to 6 per year.

Dan Keller from the White Lake Police Officers' Association assisted Joel in the negotiations.
Mediator Rich Ziegler was instrumental in recommending this contract to both parties.
