The University of Michigan College of Literature, 
Science, and the Arts is pleased to announce
a new scholarship opportunity for residents
of the State of Michigan.
The Sarpedoneum Scholarship Fund has been established in grateful
memory of police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians
who have lost their lives serving in the line of duty.

The
scholarship fund will provide $7,500 in annual support to a
student from the State of Michigan. |

The
scholarship will be awarded to a first year student entering
the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and is renewable
for three years contingent on satisfactory academic progress. |

To
be eligible, candidates must have lost a parent serving in the
line of duty as a police officer, firefighter or emergency medical
technician. |

The
recipient will be selected based on academic merit. |
| |
|
| |
Preference
will be given to candidates with financial need. |
| |
|
|
All
high school seniors who meet the selection criteria and who
have been admitted to the College of LSA by February 1 are eligible
for consideration. |
